Artist and Content Development

Artist and Content Development Is Done Through Two Entities: 

• The DABICO Community Artist League Focuses on Musician, Band, Songwriting, Performance-Concert, and Studio and Video Recording Development 

• I 71 Movies/Media, A Central Ohio Production Company an Ohio Based Movies, Television and Web Production Company.

The DABICO Community Artist League: 

A music focused arts development program is composed of two structures

• The DABICO Community - Individuals, businesses, organizations, schools and artist who support or have participated in the DABICO Initiative mission directly or indirectly

• The Community Artist League (CAL) - an in-and-after school music, video and film production arts program that helps students and adults learn and experience the performance arts of music in a band, and concert environment, and video and film productions.  Both an arts and vocational development program, the League consists of artist, students, teachers, instructors, schools, organizations and art related businesses who contribute to, participated in, or support the artist development programs, operations, and events of the DABICO Community Artist League.

• The DABICO Community and League work together to create and fund opportunities for individuals from all ages to experience performing, song writing, recording and operating in a band structure. Individual and group lessons are provided through the network of instructors the Initiative has worked with over the past 16 years. 

• The level of instruction and experiences incorporate professional, semi-professional , and school ages participation. 

i71 Movies/Media

• i71Movies is a minority owned Movie/Television/Commercial productions company. The company's goal is to grow the production of content for films, television and the web in local communities in Columbus, and major cities in Ohio and grow Ohio's talent statewide. 

• Growing the capacity of our own talent means utilizing our own gaffers, directors, producers, sound engineers, editors, actors, set designers and other homegrown talented artists.  

• By working with private and sponsorship dollars part of which was secured by the DABICO Initiative, i71 Movies produced its first award winning feature film DARK IRIS.

• i71 Movies/Media was able to employ Ohio crew and actors with 80% living in Ohio.  In turn support was provide to the DABICO initiative so the Initiative could continue its work training other artists in music, and filmmaking. The company utilized high school and college students as production assistants.  Many of these students have gone on to work on other productions.  

• The company continues its partnership with DABICO, with the intention of allowing underserved community's to access knowledge and understanding in the film industry.
